Operations Summit is promoted as the only conference exclusively focused on direct-to-customer (DTC) and omnichannel operations and fulfillment. The Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati provided a great environment for the 2.5-day conference that was filled with opportunities for learning, observing, networking and more. RMG NetworksTM was pleased to participate as an exhibitor for the second year, educating attendees on the benefits of Visual Supply Chain solutions.
Operations Summit is advertised as an event to “learn how to increase productivity, cut costs and boost customer satisfaction.” RMG Networks Visual Supply Chain solutions do just that. Our data visualization tools allow logistics operations access to real-time metrics (e.g., picking and packing rates by team or individual members, rankings, actual versus goal performance, etc.) via “scoreboards” on large digital displays and desktop dashboards to employees on the manufacturing or warehouse floor. Access to this data enables workers and supply chain management to better make informed decisions on a moment-by-moment basis, improving supply chain efficiency up to 20%.
At the Operations Summit event, we spent time educating and networking with attendees in the exhibit hall as well as two roundtables we hosted on the topics of “Distribution Center Metrics: Tracking and Reporting” and “Keep ’em Down on the Farm: Incentivizing Your Workforce.” All of the roundtables were well-attended by managers and executives alike who were engaged in dialogue and contributed to the learning for all involved.
Now in its fifth year, Operations Summit explored every area of omnichannel and DTC operations and fulfillment, including operations management; inventory management; pick, pack and ship; technology, automation and systems integration; and much more. It was definitely a conference for the “who’s who” of fulfillment with huge names like headline sponsor UPS and attendees from companies including Costco, Cabelas, Kohls and others. More than 800 supply chain professionals were in attendance.
RMG Networks looks forward to several more supply chain conferences and trade shows during the balance of 2016, and we hope to see you there to learn how Visual Supply Chain solutions can improve productivity within your distribution or fulfillment center.
